We were at Ambury Farm to feed the baby lambs at the 8am session. So much fun for the kids and adults alike. Beautiful place and such a unique event for the public to get involved in. The ranger was so organised and made the experience fun. Walked around the farm visiting all the other animals. We had a 14 month old in a pram who was able to get out and explore the area safely with interaction with the animals behind fences. Lovely place and we're very lucky to have this in our backyard in Auckland.

Such an adorable place!! If you want to take your kids to the zoo, I’d highly recommend taking them here instead!!!! It’s a free entry farm, easily accessible with either bus or taxi if you don’t have your own car. All of the animals are sooo docile, and they seem to be well taken care of. There are doors to enter each part of the farm, you just need to close it once you enter or exit. However, you cannot touch all animals, so read the sign by the door first, and remember to respect the animals’ space if they show any sign of avoidance!

Quite a nice farm away from the city. They have a nice range of animals and it is free to walk around the area to look at them. The carpark is decently sized and there is an information shed by the road. The farm does cover a large area so you are able to walk around to enjoy the countryside. They do have a shearing and milking shed so there are probably timed shows for them. There is also a campground nearby. It was a nice place to walk around with kids since the large numbers and variety of animals are quite interesting. The older ones can also be taken to the longer walks around the area.

Bring the whānau to meet some farm animals on this fun walk around Ambury Farm in Māngere Bridge. The path is a mix of grass path and gravel tracks. There is pushchair and wheelchair access around the farm animal enclosures, though these may be inaccessible in wet conditions. From the car park, head toward the woolshed and milking shed. Wander through the grassy lanes between the animal enclosures and take your time getting to know the animals. You can see sheep, lambs (seasonal from mid July), goats, cows, pigs, chickens, turkey, rabbits and maybe an elusive peacock. You're welcome to enter the paddocks to mingle with the animals, except during lambing season (mid-July and early August). Please leave the gates as you find them. Depending on when you visit, you may be able to watch cow milking (between mid July and early December) and lamb feeding (seasonal from mid July). There are plenty of picnic and barbecue spots to enjoy after your walk, and lots of space for family games on the grass. Toilets are available in the main building, Ambury campground and off Kiwi Esplanade. Dogs are allowed on-leash on the internal Ambury Farm Loop Road area only. They are prohibited from all other areas of Ambury Regional Park. Check Dog walking at Ambury Regional Park before you walk. Public toilet 🚻 there too.
