Mary’s Land Farm

Attended the special golden hour event held on select Tuesdays which seems to be specifically to get pictures in the sunflower fields nearing sunset. The farm was beautiful, the weather was so nice, but NO SUNFLOWERS I even followed their bloom reports, but no mention of the flowers being either all closed up in the evening, dead, or just nonexistent. I felt bad seeing people showing up all dressed up and ready to get beautiful sunflower field pictures in their fancy outfits. I noticed we weren’t the only ones disappointed about the lack of flowers. Partially my fault for thinking I could easily visit on my own, 8mos pregnant, with my two small kids, but walking around was very difficult. Lots of uphill trekking, so my three year old and I were struggling. Didn’t get any flowers, and the tickets were pretty expensive! Also, I suggest wearing insect repellent. I will say the guy driving the wagon was so awesome, and the sunset wagon ride we did at the end made up for the rest! We still may go back this season to experience all the things offered during the day/weekend.

Went with my family (5 people) for $25.00. The store opens at 12PM on Sundays so we got there during "honor system" time. The only downside to this is that you can't buy feed at the stores for the animals, but they are all out and happy to see visitors as you walk around. It's a great property with plenty of walking trails and it's nice you can go at your own pace. We got to see some of the baby goats getting bottle fed, which was so cute! Bring some sanitizer or soap sheets since the hand washing station just had an old piece of bar soap available. I'd definitely like to come back and see the store/feed the animals. You can do cow cuddling and some other experiences, but those are additional costs. Plenty of spots for parking and it seems like they host a variety of private events as well.

What a beautiful farm! We spent the day snuggling with lambs and strolling around visiting all the other animals. The store has some fresh meat and other goods. We loved it! When you first arrive, it's not obvious where to go due to lack of signage but just keep driving down the paved roads and you'll find the store. At that point it's a short walk to the area where you get to snuggle with animals.

The Mother's Day Flower Bouquet Making Workshop was such a nice experience. My daughter and I had a great time, and learned a lot about caring for flowers and how to make an awesome bouquet. Lisa (the instructor) was fabulous and her classes are always a treat. She also leads the Holiday Wreath Making Workshop here at the farm in December, and we love attending that as well. Our bouquets turned out pretty, and we met so many nice people in class. Highly recommend taking a class like this, or others at Mary's Land Farm. There are so many offerings, and it feels nice to support a local farm that does so much for the community.

Took my wife to the calf cuddling for her birthday. She had a blast. Only recommendation I have, would be to have straw bales to sit on. Definitely a fun experience.
