11 months agoWe had an awesome time on a horseback trail ride in the gorgeous Connectquot river state park preserve. Our guide, Jen was fantastic 💕. She gave us clear instructions, and we had a smooth one-hour ride. The horses seemed really happy and well taken care of. We even saw one horse having a blast rolling in the grass, just like a playful puppy. As beginners, we weren't sure what to expect, but once we got there, we felt totally at ease. The nature preserve is stunning and super peaceful. If you're looking to escape the city or introduce your kids to horse riding, this place is perfect. The reservation was also very convenient, just a phone call and 15$ per person in advance, and we were all set. They charged us 75$ per person for an hour and nothing more. They accept cash and credit cards, no cheques. They also provide helmets for all sizes and they were reasonably clean. This place is for anyone from NYC who wants to try trail riding. We took the LIRR from Grand Central to central Islip (1 hr n 15mins) and then an Uber to the farm (6mins) . The commute was easy and very convenient. Quick tip: Bring some carrots and apples for the horses; they love them after the ride. 🥕🍏

5 months agoMade a reservation and ended up getting there earlier then expected. They accommodated us and took us right away for a trail ride. Sign in was smooth and easy. The great team of staff had us set up and ready to ride in a timely manner. Our horseback guide was a very nice gentleman who showed us the ropes and a great ride. Greatly appreciated the day with the horses.

a month agoCUSTOMER SERVICE ALERT - every time we go there, the woman at the counter signing us in, and answering the phone when we call to book, is the RUDEST person ever. I wonder why, of so many great people working there, they chose the rudest, meanest, least relationship driven person of the bunch to manage the public ... any horse would do better than her managing customer service. Unbelievable.

5 months agoLove this place, Jen is our favorite trail guide but they’re all great! They take amazing care of their horses, and they are all awesome! We have great rides every time we go! Highly recommend checking them out, for riders of all skill levels. I had never ridden a horse before, and now thanks to them I’ve ridden many times and gotten really comfortable riding.
