Nice place for kids. More than animals kids enjoyed the rides. Weekends usually gets crowded and we have to wait in line for every ride. But this time surprisingly it was not lot of waiting time. They have reopened lot of rides for kids and adults and it was fun. Definitely I will be visiting again. Now you can celebrate your Lil ones birthday too which was closed during pandemic.

I haven't been here since the 80s. Seems to still be a really good place to bring kids under ten or so. There are LOTS of trees so plenty of shade. The zoo is nice and has lots of smaller animals you might not see at bigger zoos, like turkeys, vultures, and lemurs

It's really a nice place to visit on small budget to see different types of macaw, turtle, lemur, some storks, sheep, goat, parrot etc. We visited that place to watch cannine show 11 AM, 1PM and 3 PM. We missed it by 11 and expected to watch the next show unfortunately it was canceled. May be available on the following days I guess. But we can still enjoy with small games for toddlers and kids. It's really a fun place to visit.

I love this zoo to bring the little one to. It’s by far smaller than the Oakland and SF zoos, but it’s right in the middle of San Jose, so wasn’t expecting it to be crazy big. Unlike other zoos, there are plenty of rides that children (none under 2 except with an adult) can go on and there is a large play structure within the zoo. There is also a petting zoo and throughout the day they bring out snakes, as well as other small creatures. As for the habitats, there are lemurs, meerkats, parrots, an alligator, capybaras, African tortoises, and a jaguar but the rest of the other animals are not larger than a jaguar, last time I went. I’m surprised I didn’t get an annual membership pass sooner. The membership prices are fantastic. Children under 2 are free and the adult plus membership ($100 as of 4/2024) pays itself within 4 visits because it includes a parking pass. The parking location is where the Japanese Friendship Garden is so that’s a plus with the parking included in the membership. The memberships also gives you discounts throughout the gift shops and cafe.
